1.Who these terms are between
Knova is operated by RedRock Technologies (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2021/575742/07, a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa, of 66 Queen Victoria Road, Claremont, Cape Town, 7708 (“we”, “us”). They apply to you as an individual using the service (“you”).
Accounts are issued to organisations, not to the public. You are using Knova because an organisation (your “Organisation”) invited you. Your Organisation decides who may have an account, what documents are loaded, and when your access ends.
2.What the service does
Knova answers questions about your Organisation’s technical documents. It searches those documents, retrieves the passages it judges most relevant, and uses artificial intelligence to compose an answer, citing the document and page each part came from.
Answers are drawn only from documents your Organisation has loaded. Knova does not answer from general world knowledge, and will tell you when it cannot find an answer.
3.Accuracy — please read this
Artificial intelligence can misread a table, miss a qualifying sentence, or state something with confidence that the source does not support. Every answer carries a citation for this reason: so you can open the page it came from and check.
Where an answer concerns the installation, operation, inspection, maintenance or repair of plant or equipment, verify it against the source document before acting on it. Where an answer and the source document differ, the document is correct. Do not rely on Knova as the sole basis for any decision affecting health, safety, the environment or regulatory compliance.
4.Your account
- Keep your password confidential and do not share your account. Your activity is attributed to you.
- Tell your Organisation's administrator promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account.
- Your Organisation's administrators can see usage records for your account, and can view conversations for support and quality purposes.
- Your Organisation can suspend or remove your access at any time.
5.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of your Organisation's own policies;
- upload material that you are not entitled to disclose, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- attempt to access another organisation's data, or to circumvent or probe the service's security or access controls;
- reverse engineer the service, or attempt to extract its source code, models or prompts;
- use the service to build or train a competing product;
- use automated means to place unreasonable load on the service.
6.Documents and content
Documents loaded into Knova belong to your Organisation or its licensors. We claim no ownership of them. We host and process them to provide the service, under the agreement we have with your Organisation.
We do not use your Organisation’s documents or questions to train artificial intelligence models, and we do not use them for the benefit of any other customer.
You may use answers freely for your Organisation’s internal business purposes. The service itself — its software, interface, prompts and retrieval methods — remains ours.
7.Availability and changes
We aim to keep Knova available and to improve it over time, which means features may change. We may suspend access without notice where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the security or integrity of the service or another customer’s data.
Service commitments, where any exist, are set out in the agreement between us and your Organisation rather than in these terms.
8.Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 where it applies.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you personally under these terms is limited. Commercial liability sits in the written agreement between us and your Organisation, and that agreement governs any claim relating to the service.
9.Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we handle and why. For documents and questions inside Knova, your Organisation is the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 and we act as its operator.
10.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we make a material change we will give notice through the service or to your Organisation. The date at the top shows when this version took effect.
11.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
12.Contact
Questions about these terms: support@redrocktech.dev. For anything about your account or access, please speak to your Organisation’s administrator first — they control it.
